World Cup is the most important football tournament in the world. It's held every four years (with some exceptions) and it attracts a lot of attention from fans all over the globe.


In 2022, it will be hosted by Qatar for the first time ever! This Arab country beat bids from Australia, the US, Japan and South Korea to host this event, where 32 teams qualified for the tournament will compete for the trophy.


The 2018 World Cup was held in Russia where France beat Croatia 4-2 in a dramatic final. The 2022 tournament will be held from 21 November to 18 December.

FIFA World Cup is the most important football tournament in the world. It's held every four years, and it's hosted by a different country every four years. The first World Cup was held in Uruguay in 1930.


1. In 2022, it will be hosted by Qatar

In 2022, it will be hosted by Qatar. The country was awarded the right to host the 2022 tournament on 2 December 2010.


Qatar beat bids from Australia, the US, Japan and South Korea to host the event with its high-tech stadiums and advanced transportation systems which include an airport that can handle planes up to A380 size (largest passenger jet in service).


There are 32 teams that qualify for this tournament every four years (same as World Cup). However there will be some changes in format such as group stages reduced from eight groups down to four groups of five teams each and no longer having 16 teams reach knockout stage at end stage of competition where quarterfinals are played out before semifinals takes place after which we crown our next world champions!

The 2022 World Cup will be the first time that an Arab country has hosted this event. It's also the first time a Middle Eastern country has done so, and it's the first time that a Muslim country has been chosen to host the world's biggest sporting event.

The World Cup is the biggest and most prestigious soccer competition in the world, and it's held once every four years. Qatar has won the right to host this event for 2022, making them the first country in the Middle East to do so. They beat out bids from Australia, South Korea, Japan and the US.


The tiny Gulf nation has only 2 million residents, but has a lot of money thanks to oil & gas reserves (more than 25% of their economy). It's also home to Al-Jazeera TV channel which broadcasts news across many parts of Asia and Africa - making it a very influential player on world affairs today!

The tournament will be held between 21 November and 18 December, 2022. It will be the first time that the World Cup has been held in Qatar, which also hosts the Asian Games and is set to hold the World Athletics Championships in late 2019.


The decision to move the tournament to winter was made by FIFA's executive committee in January 2015 with a view to avoiding extreme heat conditions during summer months. The event will now be staged at night under floodlighting, meaning there will be no need to play matches in daylight hours.


The 2022 FIFA World Cup will have an earlier start (14 November) than other recent tournaments and end two weeks later (19 December). Fourteen teams have qualified for this World Cup so far: Australia, China PR, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain and Mexico among them.


There are 32 teams that qualify for the tournament every four years. The teams are divided into 8 groups of 4, and each team plays their group mates once with the top two progressing to the knockout stage.
